External pulse generator for neuromodulation
Flídr, Lukáš ; Říčný, Václav (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the treatment of chronic pain by using neuromodulation, where a external generator is used in a trial period. In the first section the principle of pain management is described and then the main nature of neuromodulation. The possibilities of chronic pain suppression are described, where we are mainly dealing with neurostimulation (stimulation with electric current). For better understanding, examples of neurostimulation usage are shown, where and in what problems it is used. Because this work deals with an external generator for a trial period (a trial system), the possibilities of testing electric impulses are described, which are then used in a implantable generator IPG. The requirements for such a external generator are also described, which are important for the design of such a device. The design of the device is firstly modeled by a block scheme, where function of the separate blocks is described and afterwards, the entire design of the external generator for neuromodulation is given. The test sample of the external generator is manufactured and tested.
Design of Portable 3D Scanner
Štigler, Jaroslav ; Rubínová, Dana (referee) ; Sovják, Richard (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor‘s thesis is design of handheld 3D scanner. This scanner belongs in the higher price category. This thesis deals with problems like long working time, watching monitor during scanning, versatility and safety measures from mechanical damage. Ergonomic solution is also very important. This design is based on a simple and functional shaping. Shaping and color solution corresponds with its use in industry. This scanner also can be used in other fields (for example: medical sector, design, archeology, etc.).
Support for Predictive Application Autoscaling on Kubernetes Platform
Fridrich, David ; Pavela, Jiří (referee) ; Rogalewicz, Adam (advisor)
The goal of this work is to create a new interface that will allow users to process collected metrics for scaling according to a formula (e.g. average value, mathematical equations, conditional statements) defined by a user. It also allows users to use an external interface for connecting KEDA to a component that defines its own scaling behavior, with which the user can achieve more complex solutions like automated predictive scaling of applications on Kubernetes platform. I solved the selected problems by modifying the KEDA core by implementing a new interface for scaling according to a custom formula with arithmetic and conditional expressions and the ability to connect a custom external remote method for calculating metrics using gRPC technology. The created solution provides a more flexible way to process metrics and also allows user to implement their own methods.
The role of male external glands in sexual behaviour of insect
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Kotyková Varadínová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Hanus, Robert (referee)
The body of some insect's males is covered by glands, which females are interested in during or after courtship and copulation. Female can palpate this glands or feed on their secretion. My bachelor thesis describes these glands in five orders of insect, where they are known: Zygentoma, Zoraptera, Coleoptera and especially Orthoptera and Blattodea. In the introduction i describe briefly their histology, morphology and ontogeny. But the main part of the work deal with their ethological and ecological function. This glands have four main functions. They can serve to maneuver female into proper position and allow the male to clasp her genitalia. Another function is prolonging of copulation, which enable the male to transfer more sperm. Glands can also provide nutritious secret, through it the male directly affects the female fitness. The last function is simple signal of male quality, which through the production of secret demonstrates his good condition. The role of the glands is often uncertain and their functions are often overlaping.
